SUS201 stainless steel basic characteristics
Chemical composition: The chemical composition of SUS201 stainless steel mainly includes chromium (Cr) 15.0%~17.0%, nickel (Ni) 1.25%~2.50%, carbon (C) 0.12%~0.20%, silicon (Si) ≤1.0%, manganese (Mn) ≤6.0% (said to be ≤1.0%), phosphorus (P) ≤0.04%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.03%. In addition, it may contain elements such as nitrogen (N).Physical properties: SUS201 stainless steel has high strength and hardness, and has good corrosion resistance. However, compared with 304 stainless steel, its corrosion resistance is poor, easy to rust.
Magnetic: After cold working, SUS201 stainless steel is magnetic.
SUS201 stainless steel applications
Ship accessories: Due to its high strength and certain corrosion resistance, SUS201 stainless steel is often used in the manufacture of various accessories on ships.
Automotive parts: In automotive manufacturing, SUS201 stainless steel is used to manufacture some parts, such as exhaust system components, fasteners, etc.
Food processing equipment: Although the corrosion resistance is not as good as 304 stainless steel, but in some food processing equipment, SUS201 stainless steel is still used as a material to contact food, but to ensure that its surface treatment and cleanliness meet the requirements.
Other fields: SUS201 stainless steel is also widely used in construction, chemical, coal, petroleum and other industries in the field of open-air machinery, as well as building materials heat-resistant parts, heat treatment of difficult parts. For example, it is used in oil exhaust gas combustion pipes, engine exhaust pipes, boiler shells, heat exchangers, heating furnace components, diesel engine silencer components, boiler pressure vessels, chemical transport trucks, expansion joints, furnace pipes and spiral welded pipes for dryers.
SUS201 stainless steel processing and heat treatment
Processing performance: SUS201 stainless steel has good processing performance, and can be cold formed by drawing, stamping and leading. However, during the processing process, its work is easy to harden, so it should be subsequently annealed.
Heat treatment: Through annealing treatment at different temperatures, different microstructure and properties of SUS201 stainless steel can be obtained. Common annealing methods include full annealing, deep annealing, spheroidizing annealing and so on.
