Indonesia's steel product exports rose 28% from January to September to US $5.35 billion
According to Jakarta, from January to September 2019, Indonesia's steel product exports increased by 28.86% over the same period last year's US $4.15 billion, becoming US $5.35 billion or equal to 75.07 trillion rupiah. The increase in steel exports is due to the surge in stainless steel exports.
"The increase in steel product exports is a good signal to the national steel industry, which shows that our competitiveness is good, especially when the International market is in the doldrums," Yerry Idroes, executive manager of the IISIA, told reporters.
In the first nine months of this year, steel product exports rose almost 30% or $1.19 billion year-on-year, accounting for 4.67% of China's total non oil and gas exports, according to BPS - Statistics Indonesia.
In fact, Indonesia's iron and steel industry still has the potential to promote economic growth and help trade balance, as long as all stakeholders have the same vision and help each other to promote the growth of the iron and steel industry, said Yerry.
